Vacant West Long Branch Bar Demolished

  Email

The former Larchwood bar in West Long Branch has been demolished after sitting vacant for several years.

The building is located next to University Subs near the corner of Wall Street and Larchwood Avenue.

The building is being demolished to make way for 16 townhomes with garages and 30 additional parking spaces. The developed land will also include an open space area for passive recreational use.

The development was originally slated to be age-restricted housing, but it will now be market-value. The plan was approved by the West Long Branch Planning Board just over 5 years ago.

West Long Branch Zoning Officer James Miller said the developers are working to get final approvals from the borough and that construction could begin soon.
