LONG BRANCH: Close your eyes and feel the sound, sea breeze stirring your senses. Or grab a dance partner and feel the grassy lawn under your feet as Taylor Tote and band make the rhythms move you.
That's how it was at Long Branch's West End Park as "Bands by the Beach" featured songstress and songwriter Taylor Tote on Sunday at the band shell stage.
"Great music at Fun City," as past entertainment maharishi Barry Stein was prone to say. He was in the audience as Mayor Adam Schneider gave intro to the evening show for the 300 0r more Jazz and Blues fans.
The ice cream shop was busy pleasing fans, and restaurants along Brighton Avenue had their sidewalk tables filled with music in the air. The sun was warm, bright and accompanied by the breeze that helped carry the medias to the guests on blankets and lawn chairs.
Last week's 50-50 went for $330, and the week before was $370, an added attraction that helps the NJ Jazz and Blues organization keep the good times rolling.
