Ocean Twsp: On July 14th at 12:57pm police received a hold up alarm activation from NJ Gold Buyers at 780 West Park Avenue.
Responding officers met with an employee of the store who reported that two male subjects had entered the store and inquired about pawning a gold necklace. Shortly thereafter, one of the subjects produced a handgun and demanded cash and jewelry.
Both subjects fled with an undetermined amount of cash and jewelry. There were no other customers or employees in the store at the time of the robbery and no one was injured. Officers Jessie Orbach and Kevin Donohoe checked the surrounding area for the subjects. A K-9 unit from the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office was also summoned to assist with the search but was unable to locate the suspects.
The two subjects were observed a blue colored Toyota Prius leaving the store parking lot heading southbound on State Highway 35. They were described as:
Subject #1 is a black male, in his mid-40’s, 6’ tall, of medium build and wearing a dark baseball cap, sunglasses, a flannel shirt and dark pants. He was armed with a silver revolver style handgun.
Subject #2 is a black male in his 20’s, approximately 6’ tall, and medium build and also wearing a baseball cap, sunglasses and a white football style jersey.
