  Email

The owner of the old Oceanport Village Center building is looking to add apartments to the second floor.

The building, also known as the Teicher property, is located at 275 E. Main St. and currently contains retail on the first floor and offices on the second floor.

The applicant, named in a public notice as Market on Main LLC, is seeking site plan approval, with variances, from the Oceanport Planning Board to permit the removal of the existing partial second floor currently located over a portion of the first floor of the existing building, and the construction of a new second floor over the entire first floor.

The new second floor is proposed to contain a total of 20 residential apartments, consisting of 12 one-bedroom and 8 two-bedroom apartments, and the first floor will remain unchanged. The applicant is also proposing additional parking, landscaping, curbing, drainage and other site improvements.

The board will hold a hearing on the application during its next meeting on Tuesday, May 23, at 7:30 p.m.
