The park is the Fourth of July place to be in town each year. Fireworks have traditionally been the big event and families and friends form Ocean and towns around find it an exciting place to celebrate e nation's birthday.

The Italian American Association holds its annual event at the park, another great event. The Mya Lin Terry Foundation has held its race fundraiser there, and other events for worthy community contributors are also on the summer event list.

The upgraded bandstand will be a great addition to the Palaia Park and enhance the many events celebrated there.

Joe Palaia Park is located on Deal and Whalepond Roads, Oakhurst, and parking for the ground breaking ceremony will be in the main parking lot along Whalepond Road.
