Ocean Township Shopping Center Seeks Approval To Add Two New Tenants

OCEAN TOWNSHIP: The owners of one of the town's newest shopping centers is seeking approval to add two tenants.

The center, located at 1710 Route 35, currently contains a Buddy's Small Lots as is owned by Selma, LLC.

Selma, LLC has applied to Ocean Township Zoning Board of Adjustment to lease out portions of its building for two new tenants.

The first tenant would be a 21,769-square-foot MOCO Sports Center, an indoor turf rental space that can be used for team practices, training and birthday parties.

The second space would be leased to Monmouth Medical Center which would open a medical consultation office and conference facility totaling 7,040 square feet.

Zoning board approval is necessary because the applicant is proposing 136 parking spaces and 220 are required based on the total square footage of the building.

They are also looking to erect a 16-foot sign near the southern entrance to the site and remove the one in the northern portion of the lot. The developers also seeking a variance for sign setback distance.

The application is set to be heard at a special meeting on the zoning board on Monday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m.
