Members of the Ocean Township Police Department and Oakhurst First Aid Squad helped deliver a baby girl at a home on West Park Avenue.

On May 16th, at 3:26 p.m. Police Officer Thomas Rant responded to the home after a call came in for a pregnant female in labor.

"Officer Rant assessed the patient who was full term and was having contractions approximately one minute apart," Detective Lieutenant Timothy R. Torch said.

Members of the Oakhurst First Aid arrived along with additional police officers who assisted with the delivery of the baby girl.

Both mom and baby were transported to Monmouth Medical Center for further medical care.
