Ocean Township Names Michael Muscillo As Township Manager

OCEAN TOWNSHIP: Ocean Township is hiring Michael Muscillo to fill the important position of Township Manager as final paper work moves ahead, contracts for example.

The resolution to enact the hire was agreed upon at the June 8, Ocean Township Council meeting with the change becoming effective on June 29.

The move was triggered by the resignation of past Township Manager Andrew Brannen who left his position effective March 3 to take on his new career at Kean University as that institute's Finance Vice President.

In the interval since Brannen's resignation the job has been filled by Interim Township Manager, Gregory C. Fehrenbach, with part time assistance of Mayor Chris Siciliano. With a lot of irons in the fire, the township decided to have the mayor assist Fehrenbach with ongoing action as new matters come up day to day,

Siciliano has considerable experience in service in OT government and volunteer tasks and has been a leader in plans to move ahead in township planning matters in his commitment to his home town.

While the Mayor was reluctant to make the announcement doing the small workshop meeting preceding the regular session, he introduced Mr. Muscillo at the June 8 session. With Mr. Muscillo were his wife Taralee and parents Tony and Kathy.

The introduction was with considerable acclaim for Mr. Muscillo's background and experience, and his excellence in meeting the requirements for the job, as attested by the mayor and others familiar with the new Manager.

Several residents and attendees added their welcome as Mr. Muscillo offered a few words of thanks for their greetings and his new appointment.

The council members carefully considered 33 applicants for the job, with eleven interviewed of that total. Mr. Muscillo was selected for meeting all the Council's requirements in exemplary manner, including his experience in the role at Hazlet and Lakewood governing bodies in recent years.
