Ocean, Long Branch, WLB Hosting Fireworks Displays

Three local towns are hosting fireworks displays from July 3-4 to celebrate Independence Day.

• Ocean Township's Independence Day celebration will begin at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 3 at Joe Palaia Park. Food vendors, face painters and other entertainment will be on hand and the fireworks display will begin at dark. No pets are allowed.

The rain date for the fireworks display is Wednesday, July 5.

• Oceanfest at the Long Branch Promenade will agin host one the area's biggest fireworks shows. The event begins on Tuesday July 4 at 10 am along the half mile stretch of the Long Branch Oceanfront Promenade from Pier Village north to Seven President's Park with bands, food and vendors.

The day will be capped with fireworks at 9 p.m.

• West Long Branch's annual tradition of fireworks at Franklin Lake will continue this July 4. The fireworks will begin at dusk at the lake located on Locust Avenue.
