New Sushi Restaurant Still In The Works For West Long Branch

Another vacant storefront in West Long Branch could be closer to getting a new tenant.

Dots Fashion, a former women's clothing store, in the Shop Rite Plaza on Route 36 could soon become the home to a large sushi restaurant.

The space is now leased by the owner of Aji Sushi and Ming Ying in Long Branch and he is hoping to open a large sit-down sushi restaurant called Mizu.

West Long Branch Zoning Officer James Miller said progress on the new restaurant is "running a little slow" but that the owner is almost ready for final inspection Following that approval, construction of the restaurant could begin at any time.
