OCEANPORT: It has been over 15 years since any religious services have been held at Fort Monmouth, however the will change this weekend.
Triumphant Life Church Assembly of God announced this week that it will reopen on Sunday, April 16 for Easter services.
"Triumphant Life is a vibrant, multi-cultural church with a dynamic youth program," according to a press release from the church. "When you visit this ministry you can expect three awesome things to occur. One you will be greeted by a warm friendly person. Two you will experience a band & singing that will make you feel alive. Finally, a message that will encourage you to win in your life."
Services will be held at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. at church located on Malterer Avenue in the Oceanport Reuse Area of the former fort.
The Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority entered into a purchase and sale agreement with Triumphant Life Church Assembly of God for the Main Post Chapel during its December, 2016 meeting. The new owners closed on the property last month. The parcel includes a 16,732 building which houses a chapel that can house 600 congregants, an administrative wing, a classroom wing and a kitchen.
