Movie Night @ Wolcott Park - Eatontown
|
Eatontown: Shore Flicks presented a public screening of the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at Wolcott Park in Eatontown Friday night. The events are sponsored in whole or part by: T.D. Bank, Jersey Central Power & Light, Saker Shop Rites, and Wawa.
The crowd started to arrive around 7:30pm with onlookers setting up chairs, blankets, and towels to mark their spots. As music played on the P.A. system, children played pick-up games of soccer, duck-duck-goose, tag, and even drew on the adjacent basketball court with sidewalk chalk that was given out by a representative from T.D. Bank. Dave Topolenski and his staff from Cold Stone Creamery also came to the event to sell ice cream and popcorn to the growing crowd.
By 9:00pm there were over 150 people at Wolcott Park waiting for the start of the classic film.
The screening of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was the second of three shows at Wolcott Park, with the next being a showing of The Spongebob and Squarepants Movie on August 17th.
