Monmouth University Mourns Loss Of Student Who Died In Fire

WEST LONG BRANCH: The Monmouth University community is morning the death of one of its students this week.

Jake Tooley, 19, of Westfield died in a house fire on Monday morning, Aug. 28. Tooley was entering his sophomore year at Monmouth University.

"Jake was a rising sophomore in our business school and a beloved friend to many," a message on the Monmouth University Facebook page states. "We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. Jake will forever be part of our Hawk family."

A GoFundMe account has been created for Tooley's family and it has already over $140,000.
