Those attending the town's annual Italian American Festival will see a new addition to Joe Palaia Park.
Mayor Chris Siciliano said the bandshell project at the park will be complete in time for the festival which begins on Aug. 9.
The main beam was installed last week and work to install the roof has begun.
The 1-story, 1,700-square-foot bandshell will be built so that the back of the structure will face the road and the nearby neighborhood.
Both the town and outside groups will be allowed to hold events at the bandshell once it is built, because its cost is partially paid through Green Acres funding. The bandshell will be able to accommodate small bands, poetry readings, movies, and small-scale theater productions.
