Man Who Struck Monmouth Beach Police Car Had 30 Decks Of Heroin

A man who struck a Monmouth Beach Police Department vehicle was arrested after it was determined the he was driving impaired and had more than 30 decks of heroin in his car.

The incident occurred on June 17 at 2:45 p.m. at the intersection of Ocean Avenue and Valentine Street. The officer driving the car was not injured.

According to the Monmouth Beach Police Department, Steven D. Miller, of Highlands, was arrested and charged with Driving While Impaired, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in Motor Vehicle, Reckless Driving, Operating an Unregistered Vehicle, and issued several additional traffic summonses. Patrolman Kevin Duerkes was the arresting officer.
