Longtime Ocean Township Business Closes

  Email

One of Ocean Township's oldest businesses has closed its doors.

Tropiquarium, a store which sold hundreds of varieties of fish as well as pet supplies, closed in December.

"I thank you, and my family thanks you for a lifetime of patronage," a message on the store's web site states.

Tropiquarium was located in the Ocean Plaza on Route 35. The family-owned store had been in business for over 40 years and was one of the original tenants of the shopping center before it was renovated and a Wegmans was added to the north end of the plaza.

No word yet on what will take the place of the large, vacant storefront.
