Long Branch Man Dies After Driving Car Into Creek

LONG BRANCH: The body of a Long Branch man was found in Manhassett Creek on Thursday morning, Nov. 23.

Acting Long Branch Police Chief Jason Roebuck said the man, identified as James Rimo, 65, drove his car off a bulkhead and into the creek in the area of Bay Avenue on Wednesday night.

"He tried to get out and swim and didn't make it," Roebuck said.

Roebuck said the circumstances surrounding Rimo's death are still unclear and that the incident is still under investigation.
