Kim Guadagno, Monmouth Beach Resident, To Run For Governor

Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno will be running for the Republican nomination for governor in 2017.

According to multiple news outlets, Guadagno, a Monmouth Beach resident, registered her campaign committee with the state Election Law Enforcement Commission this week and will make a formal announcement next week.

Guadagno has served Gov. Chris Christie's lieutenant governor for the past seven years and is a former Monmouth County Sheriff.

She joins Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli, Nutley Commissioner Steve Rogers and Ocean County resident Joseph Rullo as candidates for the Republican nomination.

Seven Democratic candidates have made campaign filings so far: Phil Murphy, Raymond Lesniak, John Wisniewski, Titus Pierce, James Johnson, Mark Zinna and Monica Brinson.
