OCEAN TOWNSHIP: A fight at the local Red Lobster seafood restaurant led to the arrest a 49-year-old Bayonne man.

According to Ocean Township Police Detective Lieutenant Timothy R. Torchia, police officers Ryan Vaccaro, Chris Clune, Kyle Kane and Chris Stenger were called to the Route 36 restaurant on May 13 at 7:13 p.m. for a report of a fight.

"Officers located two assault victims and determined that the accused, later identified as Ruperto Ozuna fled the scene prior to their arrival," Torchia said in a release.

Torchia said Ozuna knew the victims and confronted them inside the restaurant. During the fight, Ozuna reportedly grabbed a steak knife and threatened to stab one of the victims.

"A struggle over the knife ensued and employees were able to separate the subjects," Torchia said. "Ozuna then fled the scene."

One victim suffered lacerations to the face and lip as a result of the altercation and the other victim was not injured. The injured victim refused medical treatment.

An arrest warrant for aggravated assault, simple assault, possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and harassment was issued for Ozuna.

On May 15, Ozuna turned himself into Det. Jesse Orbach and was processed and transported to the Monmouth Correctional Institution pending a hearing.
