Eatontown Will Have Contested Council Race This Year

EATONTOWN: The Democrats and Republicans will both have candidates running for seats on the borough council this election season.

Incumbent Republicans Mark Regan and Donna Mazzella-Diedrichsen have said they will be running for reelection this year, according to Borough Clerk Julie Martin.

They will be opposed by Bridget Harris and Jennifer Sherrod, who are looking to join fellow Democrats Al Baginsky and Patti May, who were elected to the council in 2016.

Candidates had until April 3 to file to run in this year's election.

Currently, the council is comprised of three Republicans, including Mayor Dennis Connelly, two Democrats, and two Independents; Anthony Talerico and Virginia East.
