Eatontown First Aid Squad Getting New Ambulance

EATONTOWN: The borough's first aid squad is getting a new ambulance this year.

The Eatontown Council passed a resolution authorizing the purchase of a Type III Medallion 170, Ford E450 ambulance during its Jan. 25 meeting.

The ambulance is being purchased from P&L Custom Body & Equipment Co., Inc. in Manasquan, under the Houston-Galveston Cooperative Purchasing System for $174,086.00. The borough is committing $160,000 for the purchase and the balance of funds will be provided by the first aid squad.

"It's fully stocked and fully equipped," Borough Administrator George Jackson said. "I think we're going to have a happy first aid squad."

Jackson thanked Borough Clerk/Purchasing Agent Julie Martin for helping to acquire the ambulance through the Houston-Galveston Cooperative Purchasing System.
