West Long Branch: By 10:30 Saturday morning, the sun warned up enough for the annual Easter Egg hunt at the Community Center to be held outside. The Recreation Committee hosts the event each year for kids aged three though third grade.
It is a “Rain or Shine” event that is moved into the center if bad weather sets in. That happened at last years hunt when hard rain and strong winds pushed the fun inside.
Older youngsters generally show up to help, often with younger siblings in tow. There was plenty for them to do this year as well.
Hundreds of colorful eggs were scattered about making for an egg hunters delight. The Easter Bunny kept the children busy and many prizes were given away.
Parents helped with the games while the music was provided by “DJ” Joe Crocket of Oceanport.
