LITTLE SILVER: Crews from several local fire companies helped extinguish a townhouse fire on Monday afternoon in the borough.
The structure fire was reported around 4 p.m. at an end unit townhouse on Birch Avenue. According to a post from the Little Silver Fire Company, the structure was already "fully involved" and a request for mutual aid was made immediately by Chief Nick Hubbard.
The fire was held from spending to adjacent units due to a quick response from Little Silver and its mutual aid fire companies.
"Thank you to our responding mutual aid companies on a very hot afternoon, Shrewsbury Hose Company, Tinton Falls Fire Company No.1, Northside Engine Company, Eatontown Fire Department, Sea Bright Fire/ Rescue, Fair Haven Fire Department, Oceanport Fire Department, Rumson Fire Department, and Red Bank Fire Department," the Facebook post states. "Thank you to our support agencies, Little Silver EMS, Shrewsbury EMS, Fair Haven EMS , and MAB 6. Great teamwork by all involved."
