County To Relocate Several Fort Monmouth Monuments

  Email

Several of the monuments at Fort Monmouth will be relocated by the Monmouth County Department of Public Works & Engineering.

The County is relocating historic fort monuments with the exception of the Avenue of Memories monuments. Specifically, World War 2 monuments are being moved to the Greely Field Word War 2 Monument. Other monuments are being moved near the firehouse along Route 537.

The County's Public Works employees will be planting trees and installing benches to beautify the grounds and also give the public access to reflect on the sacrifices made by American soldiers.

The project is expected to be completed by May 15.
