Chief Artie Cosentino To Be Named Amerigo Vespucci 'Man of the Year'

WEST LONG BRANCH: The annual Amerigo Vespucci Society (AVS) of Long Branch will be holding its 124th Anniversary "Man of The Year" at a Gala Dinner Dance at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 4 at Breakers in Spring Lake.

This year the AVS will be honoring retired Police Chief Arthur N. Cosentino. Artie is being recognized for his outstanding commitment and service to his community. The club is encouraging all Artie's past fellow police officers and his many friends to support the Chief as the Man of the Year by attending the dinner in his honor. All are invited to place an ad in the event souvenir Ad Journal.

In his long career in law enforcement Artie retired as wear as a Chief for the final 7 years of his chosen profession. He also was a fireman since he was 18 years old. The graduate of Shore Regional and later Farleigh Dickenson University. He and his wife Fran have three adult children and five grandchildren, Still West Long Branch residents, Artie works at Oak Hill Academy among other activities.

"He still is a busy guy," said Rob Ferragina as he sent this invitation to wish Artie the best. Tickets for the dinner are $75 per person and ad journal contributions for the AVS publication as a tribute to the Chief are on a scaled schedule. Call Rob or Charlie for info.
