Body Pulled From Water In Monmouth Beach

MONMOUTH BEACH: The New Jersey State Police pulled a body from Shrewsbury River in the borough early Sunday.

State Police were assisting the Monmouth Beach Police Department in locating a missing person when the body was discovered near the entrance of Pleasure Bay, according to the New Jersey State Police's Twitter page. It is unknown if the body found is the same person the police were searching for on Sunday.

Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Spokesman Charles Webster said the body was that of a 56-year-old white male, but that no further information is being released as of 10 a.m. Monday morning, pending the results of an autopsy.
