Apartments, Condos Planned For Fort Monmouth In Oceanport

The Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA) is in negotiations with a developer to build apartments and condos on a former fort property in Oceanport.

The housing would be located at the parcel known as the Nurses' Quarters located next to AcuteCare in the area of Main Street.

The plan is to renovate the building's 24 residential units into 1- and 2-bedroom apartments and also build 10 townhomes along Main Street.

The project has been in the works for over two years as FMERA originally issued a request for offers to purchase (RFOTP) the property on March 13, 2015 and has been in negotiations with the proposed developer since June of that year. The name of the developer has not yet been revealed but will be once FMERA agrees to a purchase and sale agreement with them within the next few months.
